Ignited using Estes ignitor and plug. The rocket had just cleared the launch rod when the engine blew the forward closure. It blew with so much force that the metal engine retainer was pulled completely from the rocket as the motor left the rocket. The rocket landed less than three feet from the pad. The engine was laying right below the pad.
