Comments
Upon initiation of the ignitor (Aerotech First Fire), the motor essentially blew the forward closure into the parachute bay along with one of the two grains. The delay grain did not appear to have burned, and the two propellant grains showed just a little burn before being snuffed as the case came apart. The forward closure appears to have been shimmed with 1/4" red masking tape to take up gap between the motor case and forward closure before glue/epoxy put in place. Description and submission by Mark Koelsch for Gary Pletzer.
