description
As well as significant casing burn through immediately below the delay/ejection cap, the casing also shows a circumferential wrinkling at a point approx 40mm down from the ejection/delay end. and again approx 40mm from the nozzle end. None of this deformation was present when the delay was being adjusted.

Comments
The motor burned for no more than half a second after ignition before major burn through the casing, blowing the ejection charge (the nose cone was seen to come away) and with flames emitting up through the body tube. The uppermost propellant grain appears to have burned through the casing. The nomex blanket was burned through and the rocket and jolly logic chute release were both total losses.
