Comments
Flight in a Rocketman Showtime (2.6" fibreglass rocket with 38mm mount, approx 2kg on the pad), with an aeropack adapter. Burned for a fraction of a second before failure, launching to about 200 feet and then cartwheeling about with flames coming out of both ends, before the main parachute deployed. The flame was hot enough to discolour the fibreglass fuselage, leaving it too hot to touch when I reached it, and it looks like it has burned through the fibreglass motor tube where the burn through happened as well. When I got home I filmed myself dismantling the motor while checking against the assembly instructions to see if I could find any obvious mistakes, but everything appeared to be where I expected it. In flight footage (including a few frames showing it burning at both ends, if you step through frame by frame): https://youtu.be/8M0_9isG7mQ Motor disassembly footage: https://youtu.be/UNH7dxymQ1E
