Comments
At launch, immediately after leaving the rail, the nose cone popped off and began emitting dark black smoke from the forward section of the rocket. It made multiple chuffing noises until the parachute finally released from the body tube and immediately burst into flames. Video of the incident can be viewed at https://youtu.be/INdY7hRLnJw. Inspection of the motor showed the epoxied Forward Closure remained in place and the center section housing the delay grain and delay charge was completely destroyed.
