Multiple sputters, both on the pad and in flight, caused poor thrust and the rocket ended up augering in before the ejection charge went off. The sputtering included periods of no power at all, and then it "sputtered" back to life in an air start, 2-3 times. Photos show no damage to the external casing. The problem was all internal, around the quality of the burn.
