Comments
Immediately upon ignition the motor blew out the top and bottom of the rocket. I was using an Aerotech 54/1706 motor case with an adapter sleeve. The forward retaining ring was located and was bent into an oval shape. The adapter sleeve was located with damage on the sides. (probably from impacting the ground). The rear Aeropack retaining ring was forced off the motor tube. It was epoxied on with JB Weld. All of the o-rings were located and were still lightly lubricated. The top propellant grain was ejected while burning and landed approximately 20 meters away. The middle grain remained in the liner and did not ignite. The lower grain was ejected and was located in the immediate vicinity of the launch pad, also unburned.
