Comments
3/14/15 C11-5 A031113 18" ‘chute Buder Park Der Red Max Climbed far enough to clear the launch rod, then the propellant slug came out of the front of the rocket. Spectacular, but fatal. The airframe and motor mount were badly burned (not salvageable). Shock cord burned. Parachute only lost 2 suspension lines (repairable). The motor exterior looks new. Inside is a fine coating of soot, no clumps, no pieces of the cap. The nozzle is clean. Two other motors from the same pack and a C11-3 with the same lot number worked fine.
