description
This was the second failed C12-6 from the same 12 pack (3A, 3B, 3C and 3D motors). The motor lit, the rocket lifted about 6 inches and then dropped back to the standoff. It did not move again. Smoke shot out of the nozzle with no noticeable thrust after it lifted 6 inches. The ejection charge fired and the chute came out. After the motor burned out I removed it from the rocket. The nozzle was heavily eroded and part of the case was melted at the nozzle end. There was no obvious damage to the rocket. The rocket flew fine later that day on another C12-6 from a standard 2 pack.
