Motor failed on ignition. As the rocket (Mega Mosquito) began moving up the rod, there was a loud boom, and a slug of burning propellant was ejected from the forward end of the rocket, along with the parachute and nose cone. The fin can and nose cone/parachute landed about 15 feet away from the pad. The propellant slug burned out just before landing, so no fire was started. The motor had been stored indoors in a temperature controlled location.
