It burned barely long enough to get off the rod before going Roman candle. The second stage of the Estes Extreme 12 lit and it was intact enough to deploy and recover, but the second stage motor mount shifted forward and damaged the through-the-wall fin tabs. The first stage where this motor was located blew open and the motor mount and fins separated from the airframe.
