After lift off, the motor burned for about 1 second before the chute popped out and pulsating bursts of flame emmanated from the recovery end. I retrieved the nosecone, recording altimeter reading 367 ft AGL, parachute, and flash pad. After burning through the Kevlar shock cord, the rest of the rocket fell to earth, breaking the airframe tube. The broken tube didn't make much difference as the inside of the tube was burned beyond salvage. The fin can might fly again but only after careful inspection. The fins are still good. :(
